Summary of team batting firsts innings:
The drizzle made the batting conditions difficult with the ball staying low. Against good bowling and keen fielding Thongsbridge found run scoring difficult. Ben Lindley top scored with 5 runs against strong and accurate bowlers. Thomas Webster scored 4 and extras were top scores with 14! 230-5 did not look enough runs and was the teams lowest score of the season.
Final innings score; 230-5(190 net score)
Summary of team batting second innings:
Meltham made a shaky start when they lost 3 early wickets to Andrew Cuthill, Ben Lindley and Steven Asquith to leave them at 227-3, Lewis Kenworthy taking a very good low catch at square leg. Thongsbridge were well in the game at this point. However Meltham settled and started to improve, as the bowling became ragged they hit several fours and one six. Ben Lindley and Josh Ratcliffe took further wickets, however Meltham won comfortably in the deepening gloom.
Ben Lindley 2-17 off 3 overs
Steven Asquith 1-2 off 3 overs
Andrew Cuthill 1-2 off 3 overs
Josh Ratcliffe 1-9 off 2 overs
Final innings score; 278-5 (238 net score)

Match Summary: Thongsbridge made a poor start to their innings and the batting never seemed to recover or gather any type of momentum. Meltham were strong and grew in confidence. Thongsbridge were disappointed with their batting performance. However we started bowling and fielding well with some early wickets, but then Meltham started hitting more runs to win the match as the sky got dark.
