Jasper Donlon (11) and Steven Asquith (11) opened the batting and scored a respectable 23 runs together. However their joint score was overtaken by the partnership of 24 between Lewis Kenworthy (14) and Connor Garlick (7). Andrew Cuthill and Ben Lindley both scored 10 apiece, whilst Nathan Redtfearn on debut made three not out. Heather Crossley also hit a cracking 4. Thongsbridge scored at a good pace and by running several good ones and twos amassed a good score of 298-3 against an enthusiastic Holmfirth team.

When it was time for Thongsbridge to field it was cold and overcast. Stevenn Asquith got 2 for 2 from 2 overs as well as a super diving catch off his own bowling. Jack Wilson increased Thongsbridge’s lead by taking 2-4 off 3 overs with the aid of a smart catch behind by Jasper Donlon. Nathan continued his good start with a wicket. Holmfirth’s misery continued as Connor Garlick ran out another player out. Ben took 1for 0 off 2 overs, their were wickets also for Heather Crossley and Andrew Cuthill. Lewis Kenworthy held another smart catch in the slip

Result: Thongsbridge won by 114 runs

Match Summary: Thongsbridge bounced back well from the disappointment of their semi-final cup exit 36 hours previously to comprehensively outplay Holmfirth in all areas of the game. A good team performance as everybody contributed to the victory.
