The opening pair (Tommy Woodhead and Josh Ratcliffe) struggled to score against a tight bowling attack from Upperthong.

The second pair of Andrew Cuthill (12) and Conner Garlick (5) were the highest scoring pair with 17 runs between them. Jack Wilson also scored well with 10 runs. Heather Crossley also scored a useful 5 runs at the end of the innings. Thongsbridge lost 4 wickets during the innings with Upperthong bowling and fielding well.

Summary of team batting second innings:

Tommy Woodhead opened the bowling with Andrew Cuthill. But the opening Upperthong batsmen scored well without losing any wickets. Josh Ratcliffe bowled well with two maidens and one wicket from his 3 overs.  Lewis Kenworthy had 1 maiden and 1 wicket from 3 overs. Jack Wilson took a smart ‘caught and bowled’ and a further wicket, finishing with 2 for 8 from his 2 overs as he put Thongsbridge back in the game. Andrew Cuthill bowled well with 1 for 3 from his 3 overs, his wicket came off the 4^th last ball of the game and let the match finely poised with Thongsbridge requiring I wicket from the final 2 balls to win the game. The last ball of the game was agonisingly close to a catch as Connor Garlick made a great effort to get a hand to a very difficult chance.

Overall a very good team performance from Thongsbridge which made this a very close match with Upperthong just winning by 6 runs.
