Summary of team batting firsts innings:

Tommy Woodhead opened the bowling to take his first wicket of 2, with the first ball of the innings for the second game in a row. This set the tone for the Thongsbridge bowling. Crigglestone fought back with some tight defence against some very accurate bowling from Thongsbridge led by Stephen Asquith’s 3 maiden’s and Andrew Cuthill claiming 2 more wickets. Thongsbridge fielded well and this prevented Crigglestone from running up a high score. Jack Wilson took the only catch in the match with some smart fielding.

Final innings score;          246-8  (182 net score)

Summary of team batting second innings:

The opening pair (Tommy Woodhead and Stephen Asquith) ran very well  between the wickets racking up a neat 11 runs in the process. The highest individual score throughout the whole match was Andrew Cuthill scoring 12 runs from 3 excellent boundaries. Crigglestone bowled very well throughout the match but Thongsbridge kept them out until finally Crigglestone broke through late on in the innings.  As it got darker Crigglestone took three wickets towards the end as the fading light made it difficult for the last 2 pairs to see the ball and Thongsbridge had to be content with defending their wickets.

Final innings score;          247-4(215 net score)

Result:                                  Thongsbridge won by 33

Match Summary:                It was a great all round performance from Thongsbridge in difficult conditions. There was some great batting even though it was getting dark.  The team bowled and fielded well. A great team effort.
