March News Letter

Welcome to everyone and we hope you all have a very enjoyable season. Last season was a huge success for the Junior Section and the interest and enthusiasm within the club was excellent. We hope to build on this again during the coming season.

 Practice Nights

Due to the large growth in our Junior membership we have now arranged the following practice sessions each week:

£1.50 practice subs is payable at the beginning of each practice night and for safety and administrative purposes could we please ask that all players give their name and subs in before going onto the pitch.

Practices will start week commencing 16th April.

Coaching

We have a number of dedicated volunteer parent coaches who give an enormous amount of time and effort freely to the club and we wish to thank them all for their help. If there are any other parents who feel they would like to become involved in coaching please let us know.

Arnie Sidebottom, former Yorkshire and England cricketer, who provided excellent coaching in our winter nets, has also agreed to carry out some coaching during the season.

Coaches for this season are :

U17   Ken Malcolm

U15   Graham Whiley

U13   Andrew Wagstaff / Barry Marshall

U11   Andrew James / Andrew Coldrick

U9    Andrew James / Tom Kemp / Martin Stewart / Cath Farquhar

Parental Support

Parental support and enthusiasm was excellent last season. There was a very good social atmosphere on Friday practice evenings and also on match days.

Due to our increased membership and there now being 3 practice nights each week we are going to need a lot more parental support to run these sessions.

We are asking every parent to sign their name on one of the rotas (the fun and camaraderie of the tuck shop is not to be missed!!)

IF EVERYONE DOES A LITTLE THEN NOBODY HAS TO DO A LOT.

We are all volunteers and for the club to be successful we need your help.

Clothing

After the very successful launch of our own cricket clothing last season we are once again selling cricket jackets, match and training shirts, and tracksuit bottoms.

A club identity was created and the teams looked very professional when they arrived for matches.
