A good all round batting performance from Thongsbridge. Leo Berry and Luke Beaumont got us off to a good start. Leo was batting very well but was run out taking a risky second run for 13. Luke top edged to cover and was caught for 6. Gabriel Cullaigh top scored and retired on 26 and David Wagstaff batted well before being bowled for 23.The solid batting performance continued through the innings and quick runs from Edward Heald 6 and Alex James 16 not out left us on a very good total of 125 for 4.

Final innings score;                      125 for 4

Summary of team batting second innings:

Kirkheaton were unbeaten and had some very strong batters in their team. Right from the off they attacked the ball and some powerful hitting brought numerous boundaries. Our bowling was good but was let down by some inconsistent fielding – something to work on at future practices!! David Wallwork took the only Kirkheaton wicket to fall – well done David. Kirkheaton ran out comfortable winners, passing the Thongsbridge total in 16.2 overs.

Final innings score;                  126 for 1

Result:                                  Kirkheaton 3 points
